What it is
An 800 W microinverter with two MPPTs, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and IP67 protection (part number HF-800-PRO). Unlike the continental version, it comes with a 5 m AC cable fitted with a UK plug.
UK rules
Plug-in solar has been legal in the UK since 27 August 2026 (SI 2026/848). The limits: no more than 800 W AC output and 2,000 W DC, a complete product under IPS v2, a BS 1363 plug with a fuse of 5 A or less, one unit per household (G98) and registration with the ENA (myplugin.solar).
According to balconysolarguide.co.uk (a secondary source), Hoymiles had no ENA register entry as plug-in for the HMS series in late 2026. Check this before using it via the plug route, and ask the seller whether it’s sold or certified as part of a complete system.
Other markets
With a UK plug it doesn’t suit Spain, Germany, France or Poland. There, look at the HMS-800W-2T or another continental inverter.
