What it does in a balcony setup
The idea is the same as the Shelly Plug S on the continent: you put it between the kit and the socket to see what the kit delivers. With the P110, though, we haven’t confirmed that it records energy flowing back into your home circuit. If it only measures consumption, it won’t tell you what the kit produces.
What to check
Before buying it for a kit, confirm with TP-Link that it measures in both directions. Check your kit’s manual too: UK rules require a BS 1363 plug with a fuse of 5 A or less and a complete product under IPS v2, and our research doesn’t settle whether a smart plug can sit in between.
